The Village Basket is dedicated to making a lasting impact by investing in Literacy Training and Table Banking Groups that gives Villagers and City Dwellers an opportunity to create their own jobs which enables them to become self-sufficient.
Bunyore Women's Table Banking Group
TheVillageBasket is dedicated to helping these women in the village of Bunyore Kenya become self-sufficient. Our grants have enabled them to start a variety of businesses like: Rasing Chickens, Growing Vegetables and Sewing.
Bunyore Men's Table Banking Basket Makers Group
These men have taken on the challenge of making a variety of baskets to sell in their village as well as Nairobi. The challenge is to make a basket that people can afford and to make a profit. Their larger baskets will be sold to hotels and restaurants in Nairobi.
Literacy Training
Literacy Training for adults is a vital part of what we do at The Village Basket. To your left you see our Field Director Patrick Malasi and his students at a Literacy Training session.
